Pope Francis said the 2024 US presidential election was "a choice of the lesser evil"

I'm not sure what the US presidential election has to do with the pope in the first place, but despite the humanity the pope displayed at other times and places, what I'll remember him for is equating MAGA and Trump, a convicted felon and sexual predator, with Harris, a decent, compassionate, prosecutor. He said they were essentially the same, that it didn't matter who you voted for, that both were "evil."

Well, today the flags in the US are flying at half mast for the man who said Trump or Harris--both are evil, so it doesn't matter. I begged to differ when he said it, and I especially beg to differ now.

Here's one link of many, in case you forgot what the awesome pope said, or if you might have missed it: ]https://www.ncregister.com/cna/pope-francis-us-presidential-election-a-choice-between-the-lesser-evil

Say what you want about the man, but I can't respect anyone--pointy hat or not--who would make such a ludicrous statement. The pope might as well have said the rabble were right when they chose Barabbas over Jesus because, after all, it was a choice of the lesser evil.

JD Vance visited Pope Francis, and then the pope died. It was nice of the pope to meet real evil face-to-face while he could.

1. That's because Francis put zygotes' existence over living women's lives.

And that preference makes Francis a permanent villain to me.

In our Tradition of Faith this is strongly upheld and considered anathema in doing so.

Possibly his take was due to President Biden communicating as a Roman Catholic and then 'supporting' the abortion issue.

“In political morality, in general they say that if you don’t vote, it’s not good, it’s bad. You have to vote, and you have to choose the lesser evil,” he said.

“What is the lesser evil? That woman, or that man?” he continued, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris and her Republican opponent, former president Donald Trump. “I don’t know. Each one, in his or her conscience, must think and do this.”

Excuse me, but there wasn't the lost in translation I was looking for. This is beyond words.

you agree with the Pope that Trump was the lesser evil?
Do you refrain from criticizing anyone else who supported Trump, or is only the Pope beyond reproach?

10. Is that really what he said, or was it more like this from BBC in September?

“Pope Francis has called both major US presidential candidates "against life" and advised Catholic voters to choose the "lesser evil" when casting their ballots in the November election.

“The pontiff said not welcoming migrants - seemingly referring to Trump - is a "grave" sin, and compared Kamala Harris's stance on abortion to an "assassination".

““Both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants, or be it the one who kills babies,″ the Pope said in rare political comments at a Friday news conference as he wrapped up a 12-day tour through southeast Asia.”

Personally, I’m not much on pontification however one interprets it.

ALL RELIGIONS are AUTHORITARIAN.

Therefore, all religious organizations should stay in their own fucking lane, and shut the fuck up.

yeah, so he supported immigrants. of course the chief head of the largest and one of the most corrupt, (if not THE MOST corrupt )support immigrants, they're potential members of their flock, selling them front row seats in heaven. pathetic.

From the article: The Holy Father’s remarks about “the lesser evil” refers to the Church’s long-standing teaching that when faced with a choice between candidates who aren’t wholly aligned with the Church’s position on fundamental “nonnegotiable” issues — such as the sanctity of life, marriage, and religious freedom — it is permissible to cast a vote against the candidate who would do the most harm.
