We are NOT all alike. Maybe from different genetic stock, or maybe evolution is still going on but not everyone comes from stock that is a bit further along?

Some have larger corpus callosum and some have larger amygdala. The former allows for good communication between left and right hemispheres, which means more efficient processing of information, wider available brain resources to use information. A very helpful development in the human brain. The later? Well, it's good for processing threats and triggering immediate fear and/or anger responses and probably served well when we were running from big bears into whose caves we may have stumbled.

Not as many bears now, but more other types of threats, which are better met by using that left/right brain information highway and processing information to find solutions, not just autopilot type reactions.

We are not alike. Some differences are cultural conditioning but it seems some differences really are all in our heads.

I grew up in a small, very conservative, very religious-oriented town. Very racist, sexist and classist. You knew from birth what your status was and you didn't dare try to move to another class.

Or DID you??? Hmmm....

I am very different from all of the other classmates that I had growing up. Most are now die hard MAGA koolaid-drinkin'- Trump fans. I was always different in some respects.

There are a few classmates who are not as die-hard conservative. Even a few who are probably Independents. But the vast majority are MAGA and don't want anything to do with anyone who isn't. Fine by me.

I knew I wasn't like them early on, and actually embraced and relished that. I got outta there as fast as I could and only return for family funerals when I absolutely have to.

So this kind of supports your post in that, even WITH the same conditioning, SOME people come out differently - dare I say, better, smarter, more well-informed, more curious???? Whatever the difference, I am grateful for it.

So, like you, I feel there is a genetic thing involved.

Mom said that after being in US Army Air Corp in WWII, Dad came home convinced Lincoln's biggest mistake was not letting the South go their own way. He did not enjoy the company of the lads and said there was no teaching them better ways to interact with others.

We’re/ are so successful. They prey on the fight or flight model to keep rubes from actually thinking. I recall reading something several years ago that basically laid out how they managed to manipulate their audience.

Keep people outraged and they stop thinking for themselves and just become reactionary. Feed them simple memes that are easily remembered and regurgitated; drill baby drill, etc to make them think they are thinking and you can continue to lead them around by their nose.

Those of us who analyze and think and read still have the ability to look at propaganda and see it for what it is. We also have compassion for our fellow beings on earth, where as the propaganda has driven them into a fuck you I got mine mentally which is why it never dawns on them until it affects them personally….

Glad I’m on this side of humanity…

honor truth, empathy and did I mention truth? How do you convince the selfish, unfeeling and lie enablers that their agendas do not advance the wellbeing of humanity. Do they really think those longings that progressives or humanists work toward matter?

I’m beginning to believe the twisted “wiring” referenced is humanity’s sorrow. We may challenge their detachment from aspiring to wellbeing for all, but fixed within this soulless population is a disease that ravages the weak and helpless.

They couldn’t care less about any humanity that is not them, so no, they don’t care about advancing the well being of humanity. This is why it is so easy for the to dismiss Progressives as radical. To their selfish mindset, compassion for others is completely radical.

Sadly, there’s not much to miss about their inclination to shun caring beyond their own miserable lives- their predictable screaming for more and more means less and less…can’t be avoided with the trumpian horn they blare.

My mom told me often, "tell me you are a Republican, and I know all I need to know about you". I can honestly say I have never known this to be untrue, and I am an old man. Some are tolerable, but if you identify as a Republican, you are basically a selfish ass.

I've thought about this issue a few times. I wondered, how is it possible that such a large group of people could be so misinformed or evil?

Over the past couple weeks, I've been listening to a lot of near-death experience testimonies. The NDE testimonies were like a missing puzzle piece, although many questions remain.

My current theory is that we were all placed on this planet to learn specific lessons and grow. The world is filled with people who vary in their spiritual/soul development.

I think many people who naturally identify with Democrats and/or the American left are on a more advanced journey (referring to people who naturally align with looking out for others as opposed to being selfish). Our journey isn't filled with hate and fear: we passed that level a long time ago, likely in a previous life.

Our mission now, among other things, is to take in knowledge (education) and be compassionate / less judgemental towards people who are not evolved.

The "less judgmental" epiphany really struck me because I have a lot of negative feelings / contempt towards tRump and his magasses. Actually, with trump it is hatred. I can't deny that.

It's interesting because I usually get so pissed when an elected Democrat doesn't seem angry enough or doesn't seem to hate tRump the way I do, but now that I'm rethinking everything, it could be that they're more evolved than I am--maybe they know tRump is a piece of shit but at the same time, they're not succumbing to toxic thoughts, perhaps?
